Mile High Music Festival 2009 Wrap-Up: Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam

Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam took the stage and wordlessly started jamming out. After a minute or two of absolute face-melt-age, they busted into another song and melted some more faces. I heard someone near me talking about how they were doing tribute to some old classic, but I couldn't hear which, and I have no way of checking his facts, but if it wasn't a cover, it certainly felt like an old blue/funk/rock and roll classic. Either way, I suppose, the boys knew how to work their instruments. They introduced themselves, and then went into more approachable material (verse, chorus, etc) that bordered on the type of blues rock that was a precursor to metal. So, like pre-Rainbow type of stuff. It was a little too pop and a little too new school blues rock for me, but I can't deny their talent. I got a chance to talk to them about music (The interview will be up tomorrow or Thursday, depending on how much I get done today), and I have to say that these 3 lads were very fine gentlemen.
