Mile High Music Festival 2009 Wrap-Up: Big Head Todd and The Monsters

My sister, I think, is a bit of a Big Head Todd & The Monsters fan (I know she went and saw them recently, anyway), but I'm only really familiar with some of their radio hits from a while ago. These guys have had a fairly good career as far as careers in music go. I mean, they don't really have day jobs or anything, so I have to say they're doing pretty good. I got to interview a few of them, and I almost didn't know what to ask them, because they exist on a level that I'm completely unfamiliar with, as completely established and well known professional musicians. Their set held no surprises for me, but it did make me think about music in a different way. It was simple and complicated and probably some of the most concrete music I heard at the festival. Each song felt like there had been countless hours put into each song. Their prowess weighs down on my mind to the point where I don't think I'll ever fully be able to understand Big Head Todd & The Monsters. And yes, I recognize how strange that statement is.
