Monolith Music Fest. Wrap Up (Saturday): The Veils

The Veils

I'd first heard of the The Veils maybe a week ago, so their material was fairly new to me. I only really knew the singles from their videos (which are pretty entertaining). I got a sort of Strokes-ish, English indie pop, meandering but excited sound from them. There was also a Bluesy, Jack White-ian style to them. I didn't stick around for too long, because, while good, I honestly felt as though I would have enjoyed their live show more if I had known their songs and could have sung along, because, even just hearing some of the lyrics for the first time, I could tell there was a lot of intensity behind the words.
